About Tofta Gård

A Journey Through Generations and Dreams

Tofta Gård on Orust has a history as rich and diverse as its surrounding landscape. It began in 1820 when Anders Falk, a young and ambitious man, acquired the farm. Two years later, in 1822, he officially took over Tofta and Svanvik, along with nearby islands and islets.

Anders Falk was not just a prominent farmer, he was also a man with a big heart for the local community. He urged the fishermen of Stocken to move their huts inland, making their work easier and strengthening community ties. It’s said he granted residents the right to seaside boathouse spots free of charge, reflecting his generosity and care.

After Anders Falk’s passing in 1851, he left a significant part of his fortune to charity, known as the Falkiska Donationen (The Falk Donation). This generous act had a lasting impact on the local community and reflected his commitment to others’ welfare.

Throughout the 20th century, Tofta Gård underwent several transformations. It shifted from an active farm to a place for leisure and recreation. The beautiful surroundings and historic charm attracted visitors, inspiring a new vision—to preserve the farm’s spirit while sharing it with others.

Today, Tofta Gård is a charming and memorable place on Orust, where history meets the beauty of nature, So for us, it’s more than a farm—it’s a gathering place for families, friends, and those seeking peace and relaxation.

We make sure that every corner of the farm breathes tradition and warmth, so each guest can create their own memories and become part of Tofta Gård’s continuing story.
